Reach 1 Teen

Hello everyone,

It’s that time of year again and we need your help! We are asking for $25 gift card donations at this time. Many of you know what our Reach 1 Teen program is already but some of you don’t so I will give you a little background story of how it got started.

It started when I became a single mom of 4 kids. The next year when Christmas came around I couldn’t afford to get my kids anything for Christmas. I was told about a program in my area that gave kids in low income households Christmas gifts. This ministry was such a wonderful blessing to me. When my oldest turned 15 he was too old for the program and I prayed for God to direct me and show me what he wanted me to learn from this hardship in my life. I didn’t want my son to not have anything for Christmas that year, and God provided, like He always does! However this time he put the idea in my spirit to start a ministry and give to teens in my area. Since 2019 that is exactly what we have been doing! In 2019 we started a little late and only had 10 teens. Then in 2020 we had 40 kids sign up. Last year we had a whopping 101 teens that signed up!! Each year we are amazed at how many teens we have and we are even more amazed at the donations and are blessed to be able to give them something for Christmas.

We give each teen a $25 gift card plus a goody bag of candy and coupons from our area that they can use year round. Each teen will also get a letter telling them how much God loves them, a track, and a Bible. We also have some gifts that the kids can pick out for their parents. I have been blessed every year to be able to help other moms, dads, and grandparents give their children this blessing. As I sit back and watch my husband and my children telling others that Jesus loves them and seeing the smiles on the parents faces, it melts my heart.

*** In the years past the kids have asked for cards from Walmart, Target, Old Navy, Academy, Hobby Lobby, Chic-Fil-A, Canes, Starbucks, and Visa gift cards, etc.
