Moving Mountains

Hey y'all,

How have y'all been? We have been doing pretty good. God has been teaching us and showing us things in all kinds of ways for every area of our lives. Do you ever feel that way? Like you're learning something in everything that you do? Like everything seems to be a lesson? Even with everyday life. Well, that's how it is with us. Especially, with parenting.

Luke 11:11-13

You fathers; if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him. NLT

Mark 11:22-24

Then Jesus said to the disciples, Have faith in God. I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea, and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you've received it, it will be yours. NLT

Sophi our youngest little girl was turning 7. We were figuring out what to do for her birthday, when her oldest brother calls from Florida and says that he has bounce house and a water slide, that also has a pool at the bottom. The problem was that we had our riding mower at another house and no way to get it here. The other issue was that our push mower needs a new carb. I was scratching my head about how to get the grass that was 2 and a half foot tall mowed. I didn't need the whole yard mowed, just a section. Well, I grabbed the weed eater and some zip ties and went to work. It sure was hot, but that made the grass easier to cut. It didn't take as long as I thought, but God sure taught me a lesson.

See, the only other people that knew about the bounce house/water slide, was Brittany and Zachary. The girls didn't know, they seen me working and knew that it was only a portion that was being mowed. They knew something was happening but didn't know what. But the next day, they understood. They knew that the job from the previous day was done for that event, for that purpose. They learned as children and we learned as adults.

We learned that when our son asked us for something, we didn't refuse, instead we made it happen. Our children learned that their dad would do anything for them, so that they could have joy. They also learned that even though they didn't understand why I was mowing a section with such tall grass with a weed eater, they had faith in me that it was for a good purpose.

What does the scriptures have to do with all this? Well, Our Sophi asked for things to happen for her birthday and it was provided because we love our little girl. We all learned that by Faith and with Faith, there isn't anything impossible with God - Holy Spirit - through us. We asked in Faith and God provided in each and every way. Holy Spirit provides so much in our lives. The Word gives us several areas of some of the things the Holy Spirit gives us. 1 Corinthians 12, Isaiah 11, etc provide us with how we receive Spiritual gifts but how to use them.

I am sure some may disagree; however, I wouldn't expect some to understand especially when they aren't the ones that experienced it. Nor do I expect some to understand and get it if they're in religion more than in Spirit. Anyhow, I pray that this hits home with you.

Therefore brothers and sisters, I encourage you to see where in your lives, everyday, that God's Word is alive. Even I, at that moment didn't see it. But as I was finishing cutting the grass and sitting in the pool at the bottom of that slide watching my kids having so much fun, those scriptures came alive in my heart to me like Jesus was right there beside me speaking them. So take the time to hear the Word and to understand it in even more depth than you have before.

We Love Ya'll
