Where or How can you get Faith?

So then Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:17

In our area most people know what the word of God is. But for those of you who don't know and/or you think you know but are mistaken, let me help you. First, you need to know what the word of God is, it is the Bible. Regardless, of how many translations and what language it's in, the Bible is God's words. Yes, it is written by man but it is inspired by God, meaning God lead man to write out His words. Secondly, you need to know who is the word of God. Lets got to scripture, John 1:1-5 & 14-18. Which says, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it (1-5). And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cries out saying, this was He of whom I said, He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me. And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him (14-18). Now by those 2 alone, you should be able to get What and Who the Word Of God Is.

However, lets go a little deeper. The Word is Jesus Christ, the eternal, ultimate expression of God. In the OT (Old Testament) God spoke the world into existence; in the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) God spoke His Final Word through the Living Word, His Son (Jesus Christ). Now the word Dwelt literally means "tabernacled". The analogy is that of the tabernacle in the wilderness when God pitched His tent among those of the Hebrews and manifested His glory there, so Jesus Christ identified Himself with humanity by becoming flesh, and we beheld His glory.

Therefore, God's ordinary means of operating is that, people do not come to saving faith unless they have either read the Bible or have someone tell them the gospel message that is in it. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to awaken a response of faith within us, and it is the reliability of the Word of God on which we rest our faith for salvation. The words of scripture are the words of eternal life (James 1:18, 1Peter 1:23). This is why preaching and evangelizing the gospel is absolutely necessary.

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?

Romans 10:14

So then, to hear means to actually physically hear. And to hear means to mentally know and understand, as well as, our faith to be awakened within us. We are to physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually get to know and understand the Word of God. Which in turn, means to believe and have faith in Jesus Christ; and to have a relationship with God on all accounts in every area of our lives.

Therefore brothers and sisters, now you know what Faith is and where/how to get it. I want to encourage you to really, really get know Jesus on a personal level. Seek God in every area of your life. Not just when things are bad. God wants a relationship with you other than when your health, finances, family issues etc are not well or beyond bad. He wants to celebrate with you on your good health, when you get promotions/financial increases, family enjoyments etc, after all, it came form Him. How about we put our Faith in something and someone that brings much more than instant gratification and false peace and happiness, for those things will pass away and are not eternal. Lets put our Faith in the Word of God, Jesus Christ, God.
